Partnering With WordCamp Kathmandu 2026: The What and Why
WordCamp Kathmandu 2026 (WCKTM 2026) is a two-day WordPress conference happening on September 18th and 19th at Alice Receptions, Gairidhara.
If you didn’t know, WordCamp is where WordPress users, developers, and web professionals come together to share ideas, build connections, contribute to WordPress, and celebrate the open-source community.
WordCamp Kathmandu 2026 will have all of this, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn, make friends, and have fun.
The two event days are planned as Contributor Day (dedicated to contributing to WordPress together) and Conference Day (focused on sharing, learning, and networking).
On top of all that, you’ll also have an opportunity to experience the local culture. As every WordCamp is designed to empower the local community and adapt to the local culture, this is your chance to get a glimpse of this culturally vibrant Himalayan city.
The slogan, “Where Ancient Culture Meets Open Source,” captures it well.

Two Days, Two Different Experiences
Here’s a breakdown of the two days of WordCamp Kathmandu 2026 (#WCKTM).
Day 1: Contributor Day – September 18
Contributor Day is a day dedicated to contributing to the WordPress project. Contributors—from experienced contributors to complete beginners—come together to work on different aspects of the project, including code, design, documentation, marketing, and community.
It’s organized like a workshop, with groups formed around contributors’ interests. These groups are called “tables.” For example, those interested in contributing to WordPress core software can join the ‘Core’ table. Experienced contributors lead these tables and help participants get involved and contribute.

Beyond coding, you’ll find a wide range of contribution teams in WCKTM 2026. The planned teams include:
- Accessibility
- AI
- Community
- Core
- Documentation
- Marketing
- Meta
- Openverse
- Patterns
- Photos
- Plugins & Plugin Review
- Polyglots
- Support
- Themes & Theme Review
- Training
Therefore, Contributor Day at WCKTM 2026 provides a unique platform for both experts and beginners to contribute through collaboration.
Day 2: Conference Day – September 19
The Conference Day will include a full day of talks, workshops, networking, and community conversations. You don’t just attend the conference presentations but can also learn and network in the hallway.
Currently, the selection process and announcements of the selected speakers are taking place. Check this page for the updated list of selected speakers.

What Does This Partnership Mean to Us: The Why
Community contribution has always been part of our journey, and that’s the WordPress way.
The WordPress software and other resources we get for free empower us to create the online presence we want. But all of this is possible because of people who contribute to the software and share its open-source philosophy.
Inspired by the same philosophy and our love for WordPress, we have been actively contributing to the community as individuals, both locally and wherever possible.
Individually, I have been using and contributing to WordPress since I discovered it in 2015. I have been a speaker and organizer of multiple WordCamps and local meetups.
Some examples include:
- Speaker at WordCamp Kathmandu 2016 and organizer at WordCamp Kathmandu 2022 and 2023.
- Speaker at WordCamp Asia 2023 and organizer at WordCamp Asia 2025 and 2026.
- Organizer at WordPress Women’s Day Nepal Meetup 2025 and 2026.

In addition, other members of our SiteSaga team have also been participating in and contributing to WordCamps. For example:
- Alisha Bajracharya, author at SiteSaga, was a speaker at WordCamp Kathmandu 2023.
- Our team has been contributing to different WordCamps and meetups organized in Nepal in many different roles.

So, this media partnership is a continuation of that long tradition.
Yet, this is our first time as a media partner, representing our brand rather than as individuals. And that’s why we’re super excited to do our best to make the event a success.
We believe this partnership will not only be a contribution but will also help connect our online audience with the WordPress community.
Along with WordPress tutorials and guides, you’ll also get to know the behind-the-scenes stories of WordPress, learn about its updates, and get to know the community that powers the project.
Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?
